Al Siblani is the Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of EnvisionTEC. He began his career in the rapid prototyping industry by placing the first Helisys LOM2030 machines at Ford, GM and Chrysler, before founding his own company, Sibco, Inc., the only third party provider of services and materials for the rapid prototyping industry at the time.
Mr. Siblani used this experience and knowledge to develop a new rapid prototyping system utilizing DLP from Texas Instruments as the technology platform. In November of 2002, he founded EnvisionTEC and began delivery of the Perfactory® 3D printer using the DLP 3D printing process.
With Siblani’s passion for additive manufacturing as the main driver, the company would go on to develop an array of intellectual property for 3D printing processes. EnvisionTEC now has more than 100 pending and granted patents worldwide and has launched several new 3D printing platforms. That includes the 3D-Bioplotter® for bioprinting applications; 3SP™ (Scan, Spin and Selectively Photocure) technology for large format production printing of smooth, accurate parts; and, most recently, the SLCOM for the additive manufacturing of large woven fiber composite parts embedded with thermoplastics.
Under Mr. Siblani’s guidance, EnvisionTEC has now been manufacturing 3D printers for use in the jewelry, dental, hearing aid, medical, toy and mechanical CAD markets for 15 years. The company’s global reach now includes an International headquarters in Gladbeck, Germany, a North American headquarters in Dearborn, Mich., and additional R&D, sales, and manufacturing locations in California, Canada, the UK, and the Ukraine. The company also has resellers worldwide.
Mr. Siblani has been recognized with a variety of awards, including the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2015 Award in the technology category.
Mr. Siblani holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Lawrence Technological University and a MSEE from Wayne State University.
